Apologies

I apologize for the radio silence these past few weeks. I've been a busy girl: regular job, filling in at the flower job, catching up on laundry, plus a while bunch of other little things.

You didn't miss anything, I'm still just as nagging and crabby as ever :)

The Mother's Day rush starts on Tuesday at the flower place, so I'll be working for about 8 days in a row.

I started a new knitting project while I'm waiting for replacement yarn for my primary knitting project (I ordered the yarn online, and when it came, it smelled very strongly of petroleum - which is not unheard of. The online store is replacing it, it just takes time to travel from New England).

Naked kitty was sick with some sort of liver problem. She's feeling better but has yukky medicine to take.

The weather has turned cold and rainy, I want the 80 degree days back!

I'm going to be teaching a class on canning and pickling in August. There are only 3 spots left already!

That's about it. Still my boring life.

I may be biased, but I think this might be the prettiest sweater ever made.

See the little leaf on the front? I found buttons that are exactly that shape and just the right color.

If you couldn't tell, I'm a little proud of myself.

Spring is continuing to bounce along. I'm getting antsy to get working in the garden, and I even cleaned out one of the flower beds because this warm weather has my nemesis Creeping Charlie creeping in earlier than ever. The grass is needing to be cut already, but I'm waiting for my new lawnmower to arrive. I'm excited about it because it's motorless - an "old fashioned" reel mower. No gas, no noise. Just the beautiful fresh-cut-grass smell, and me getting some exercise.

I'm planning the vegetable garden: the usual suspects of tomatoes, onions, peppers, cukes, dill and some newcomers like potatoes, and different herbs. The baby blueberry bushes are enjoying the warm weather and all four of them are greening up nicely. I have to figure out a way to protect them from the hungry bunnies!

I'm also planning some additions to the front yard flower beds, filling in and adding some new colors.
